More about my training, and me:
Lisa King, Certified and Licensed Massage Therapist
For me, massage is a way I can serve people and help them become aware of their own bodies and how they can relax and feel better.
I truly believe massage is a natural way to relieve pain and stress. I use my techniques on my own body and am able to relieve my own aches and pains.
I worked in Chicago for 14 years at McCormick Place a huge convention center in the city.
I also worked weekly at a retirement home. This gave me the greatest satisfaction to work and help the elderly.
I do massage because I love to help people - to see their reaction to feeling better.
This is where my passion lies. Many people ask me, "Don't you get tired? Don't your arms and hands ache after an hour of massage?"
My answer is, "I love what I do and I am energized by it."
Another interesting aspect of my life that I bring to my career is I am an epileptic. I have had seizures since I was 14 years old.
It is through my experiences with epilepsy that I came to know God and feel that He has called me into the career I am in.
I always talk to my clients about my epilepsy and make sure they are comfortable with the possibility of me having a seizure. I have a VNS (Vegas Nerve Stimulator) that I use when I feel a seizure coming on.
